Der Vulkan liegt in der riesigen Tengger-Caldera, die einen Durchmesser von etwa 10 km hat und von feinem Vulkansand umgeben ist. Von den Einheimischen wird er Laut Pasir (Sandmeer) oder auf Javanisch Segara Wedi genannt.<\/p>\n<p>Die Temperatur in der Tengger-Caldera liegt nachts oft bei etwa 10 \u00b0C, kann aber zeitweise auf 0 \u00b0C und darunter fallen. Die Tagestemperaturen sind mit etwa 15 \u00b0C bis 20 \u00b0C meist recht angenehm. Wenn es jedoch bew\u00f6lkt oder windig ist, kann es recht kalt werden. Bringen Sie daher warme, wind- und wasserdichte Jacken sowie geeignetes Schuhwerk mit. Die Regenzeit dauert von November bis M\u00e4rz, wobei der Januar und Februar am niederschlagsreichsten sind. Viele Teile des Parks sind w\u00e4hrend dieser Zeit aufgrund von \u00dcberschwemmungen und Erdrutschen unzug\u00e4nglich.<\/p>\n<p>Der Name Bromo leitet sich von der javanischen Aussprache von Brahma ab, dem hinduistischen Sch\u00f6pfergott, entsprechend dem hinduistischen Ritualursprung in einer Legende aus dem 15. Jahrhundert. Am vierzehnten Tag des hinduistischen Festivals Yadnya Kasada reisen die Tenggeresen aus Probolinggo in Ost-Java den Berg hinauf, um den Bergg\u00f6ttern Opfergaben aus Obst, Reis, Gem\u00fcse, Blumen und Opfern von Vieh darzubringen, indem sie diese in die Caldera des Vulkans werfen.<\/p>\n<p>Der Kontrast zwischen den \u00fcppig gr\u00fcnen T\u00e4lern rund um die Caldera und dem weiten Sandmeer erzeugte irgendwie eine unheimliche und unwirkliche, aber dennoch unglaublich magische und atemberaubende
